Possibly the Greatest Discovery I've Ever Made

Happy Monday!! I'm taking a break from whining about my life for a minute to talk about what I've been doing with my makeup lately. It's nothing earth shattering, but it's close [for me]!

Smooth Skin All Day

I am a total BB cream sucker. Especially in the summer. I don't want anything heavy weighing my face down, so the less makeup the better. Lately, I'm loving Benefit's Big Easy. They say it's "better than BB", but it seems the same to me.

I also use Cetaphil's Oil Control Moisturizer every day and I really like it. I want to try Coola's matte moisturizer when I finish this, but I like this enough that it wouldn't break my heart to just buy another Cetaphil.

Anyway... I also like to save time, so lately, instead of layering there two products one on top of the other, I've been mixing them. You could do a little squirt of each in your hand, rub together and then put on your face, or do like I do. I dab a dot on my nose, forehead, chin and each cheek of both products and then blend. My skin stays smooth and oil free day. I love this combo! I'll be using it until the weather cools off and it's safe for me to wear real makeup again. And then, who knows. Maybe I'll mix my daily foundation with my moisturizer. :)

Big, Huge Life Changes

It's been more than week since I've blogged, but here I am showing up to class on a Saturday night. I'm watching The Best Man Holiday and wishing I had a glass of wine. I love Taye Diggs and I've loved Morris Chesnut since I saw Two Can Play That Game. I haven't seen it in years, but I would probably still cry if I watched it now. Anyway, I didn't come here to talk about hot men.

I can finally share something I've been waiting/wanting to share for a long time. About two years ago, I signed up for an alternative teaching certification program. I told a few people, but not many. I started out guns blazing, but then life and other things took over and I kind of stopped doing the modules. Over the last three years, I've been going through periods of unrest in my job and every time that would happen, I would start looking around and polishing my resume. Nothing ever came around, so I stayed where I was. Back in May, I started looking again and noticed a few teaching jobs open in my hometown so I applied not expecting anything to happen.

Low and behold -- they called me for an interview and offered me a job on the spot. I accepted and turned in my resignation to the only big-kid job I've ever had. My last day is July 31st and I have professional development on August 6th. I have to move and I have a lot to do. I was very excited, but now I'm freaking out. I don't know what I'm doing and I don't even know where to start.

+ I'm thankful I'll only be teaching 5th grade ELA, but I haven't taken my content exam. That exam covers all four subjects in 4th-8th grade. I'm afraid I'm going to fail. I have a lot to study.

+ I have to finish my training modules. I have ten left, and obviously I need to finish those ASAP or I'm REALLY not going to know what I'm doing in a classroom.

+ I need to do my observations. I haven't even started those.

+ I applied for my probationary certificate, but can I even get it if I haven't taken my content exam?? I don't know. I'm confused about everything.

+ I'm leased to my apartment until September 30th, so I have to move in my with my parents for a little while because I can't afford rent in two places.

+ Long story short... I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING. But I'm thankful for changes and new opportunities. My life is just flipped on its head right now and I need time to readjust.

All thoughts, prayers and advice during this time are greatly appreciated. :)

Olay Regenerist Tone Perfect Cream
I was so excited about this product! For one thing, it's a full size jar and will save me a lot of money. For another, Olay is known for its great skincare products! This smells great and soaks fully into the skin. If you have oily or combination skin, I would recommend a once per day application. I was using it twice a day and noticed my skin starting to produce more oil. I've since cut back and my skin has been fine!

EcoTools Pure Complexion Facial Sponge
This thing is just too cool. I'm going to start travelling with this every time I go out of town. This exfoliating tool is a great and cost effective alternative to a Clarisonic Mia (or other knock-off sonic/supersonic facial exfoliator like the one I have;). With just a little more elbow grease you can get a deep clean in just a few minutes.

Pure Silk Shave Cream
I've been a Pure Silk user off and on for many years. In fact, I already had one in my shower before my #VowVoxBox arrived. To be honest, it's not my favorite. I have dry skin year round, especially on my legs, and I've noticed creams don't really help with that. Gels are a lot better for my dry skin, but for a girl on a budget, Pure Silk Shave Cream is the way to go. (Just make sure you lotion up later!)

Tide-to-Go Pen
So you had dinner before the wedding and dropped some alfredo sauce on your dress? Tide-to-Go to the rescue! Stash these babies in your purse, rub a little on your stain and it's as good as gone.

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure
I've always considered Sally Hansen a pretty trustworthy drug store brand. The first lip plumper I ever used was Sally Hansen and it's still my favorite. Anyway, this is a beautiful blue color! I recommend multiple coats, because it's thin and light, but it's a great color for summer. Bonus: if you're a bride and you're needing your "something blue", this would be great!

Riley & Grey
If you're a bride and you're needing a website to commemorate your special day, give Riley & Grey a shot. They offer a number of features, as well as customer service for any problems you might have. Check out their Instagram for a little taste of the action.

Humping With Damon

Linking up with my favorite Kathy for Humpday Confessions. I mean, I can't say no to Damon Salvatore. Here goes.

I confess...

...I spent four hours meal prepping on Sunday afternoon only to eat fast food on Monday night. It was worth it.

...I'm quite horrible with money and I'm struggling lately. Digging holes (and then burying myself in them) -- it's what I do best.

...I have a headache.

...I really want to see Maleficent, but I don't have anyone to go with. I might go by myself.

...I'm having reverse hair regret. I got a trim on Friday and now I'm regret not cutting it off. I want Ali Fedotowsky's hair.

...I'm reeeeally looking forward to 4th of July. I need some time off!
